I'll add a little more based on the conversation through the 18th, so I may be repeating things said afterwards.

I spent a lot of time thinking about whether I could use and iPad for more than just fun (though I like my fun as well). I bought a Zagg case and keyboard, so my iPad is well protected and also easy to work on with the bluetooth keyboard.

At first, word processing was very difficult. Now there is a nice app which can substitute for NW until it's developed and that is Textilus. It also uses an rtf format and so going back and forth is pretty easy, though final formatting has to be done on my Mac. It uses Dropbox folders, so if you create the document on your Mac and then put it in any Dropbox folder, you can then bring it up on your iPad. And they seem to be improving this little app on a regular basis.

I also bought Bento and moved my few databases from Filemaker, which is so expensive and more than I usually need. So I now have full use of databases on my iPad.

For me at least, these two extras make my iPad a useful working tool.

Daniel
