Hm... Try this. Go to username/library/preferences and delete all 
printer prefs files - both those belonging to the system and also the 
Xerox specific prefs files.

Also delete the file(s) 'com.apple.LaunchServices.plist' and 
'com.apple.LaunchServices.QuarantineEvents'

Then go to the folder 'By Host' also in the preferences folder and look 
there, if you can locate any files belonging to anything printing. If so 
also delete these.

Then log out and in again to completely disable any old printer 
preferences. Now go to 'Print&Fax' controlpane and add the Xerox printer 
again and see what happens.
