I don’t have any printed manual. Use Nisus Writer Pro Help in the Help menu, it will open the User Manual. In the current version the Index chapter starts on p. 238.

Why don’t you just place the insertion point at the end of the file, then
Tools > Index > Insert Index
Now just select and copy the Index portion of the file and paste it into a new document.
