Interested in some AWESOME education about critical care medicine in the ICU? The critical care team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is hosting monthly training. It's an awesome opportunity to get some education (READ: good...not the like the mediocre lectures we often get in class), meet some of the ICU staff nurses and physicians, and then socialize/drink beer/margaritas!

This month:

Reanimating with ECMO: Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation
Thursday, January 21
4:00 - 5:00 at DHMC Auditorium D
Immediately followed by social hour at Margaritas across the stress

Are you curious about this mythical creature called ECMO? Do you want to learn what type of patients and why are placed on ECMO and why V/V vs V/A? Are you an LNA that works in the ICU and would like to know what you can do and what is going on in that busy room? Are you an ER nurse or step-down nurse that always hears about this treatment but don’t fully understand who, what, and why?.

Can’t make this education day? That is ok, there are lots more to come.

February: Dr. Matt Roginski will speak on when to use pressors or fluid
March: Cheryl Calhoun will address things to look out for with post MI patients
April: Dr. Max Vergo is going to speak on palliative care and ethics from the field to the ICU
