I keep hourly, daily, weekly and monthly backups ... around 30 copies
of each for mission-critical stuff, which is mirrored to multiple
external drives/computers.

The most critical step of all, though: make sure your backups are
healthy. I've already been through the process of finding every one of
3 months worth of backups was corrupted. FMS11's ability to save a
Clone is a good thing too.
