What you have described is typically known as a cross-tab report, something FileMaker Pro doesn't do well natively. However the folks at Cleveland Consulting have recently released a product, CC Pivot, that can make this easier for you. Check it out: <http://www.clevelandconsulting.com/cc_pivot/>
