Dartmouth Council on Climate Change
Global Dimming: A Dampening Factor on Climate Change?
8:00-9:00pm TODAY
Haldeman 124
********************************************

Join us as we explore the phenomenon of Global Dimming, a global cooling effect
resulting from pollution-driven increases in cloud reflectivity. We will inform
our discussion by screening sections of the PBS documentary "Dimming the Sun"
and other select clips.

Lou's pies and Morano gelato will be served!

"Dimming the Sun" preview:

"The good news is that pollution controls have slowed and possibly even halted
global dimming during the last decade. The bad news - and the ironic twist in
[the] story - is that without pollution, more sunlight is reaching earth, revealing
the full impact of global warming... [W]ith dimming fading away in many regions,
global temperatures may rise even faster than most models have predicted."
