IF YOU CHOOSE TO DRINK, KEEP SAFETY IN MIND:
***Eat food before going out, preferably something hearty

***Alternate alcoholic beverages with non-alcoholic beverages: drink a bottle
of water or juice in-between alcoholic beverages

***Don't drink mystery mixes: Punch and "chasers" may contain unknown substances.
Drink from containers you open yourself or you witness being opened.

----------------------------------------

BE AN ACTIVE BYSTANDER....LOOK OUT FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR FRIENDS!
***Trust your instincts
If you see an interaction that you think is dangerous, intervene and give
the person an out
Ways to give outs: ask if the person wants to go to the bathroom, get some
water, or dance.
While an assault is never the fault of the victim, there are ways we can work
to reduce risk.

***Practice the Buddy System!
Set limits, and stick to them.
If you go out with a group of friends, keep an eye on each other.
Make up a phrase or gesture to use in case of discomfort, alarm, or emergencys,
like "Pickles!" or "Cat!"

----------------------------------------

ASK FOR CONSENT!
***Red: Signs You Should Stop
You are intoxicated and cannot gauge or give consent
Your partner is asleep or passed out
You hope you partner will say nothing and go with the flow
You intend to have sex by any means necessary

***Yellow: Signs You Should Pause and Talk
You are not sure what your partner wants.
You feel like you are getting mixed signals.
You have not talked about what you want to do.
You assume that you will do the same thing as before.
Your partner stops or is not responsive.

***Green: Keep Going and Communicating
You and your partner(s) come to a mutual decision about how far to go.
You and your partner(s) clearly express comfort with the situation.
You feel comfortable and safe stopping at any time.
