This is your LAST CHANCE
to learn more about each candidates' views and make
AN INFORMED DECISION
when voting for your next Student Body President & Vice President.
**I-CC Questionnaire to SA Candidates**
-->We asked the tough questions, now hear the candidates' answers
THE QUESTIONS:
1. Can you identify the under-represented communities at Dartmouth? What do you perceive to be common issues that are faced by some of these communities?
2. Compared to the number of racial minority students in the overall Dartmouth student body, only a small percent choose to affiliate with the Greek system. What are your thoughts on this?
3. Given the recent resignations of esteemed minority members of the Dartmouth community, how will you advance the College's work to ensure that it improves recruitment and retention of minority faculty, staff, and administrators? Do you have ideas about how the College should support these faculty and staff members?
4. Please comment on Dartmouth's recently released alcohol policy and sexual assault prevention initiatives (from last term). What are your thoughts about the COS hearings system, especially as it relates to issues of sexual assault (new committee formed this term to look into this)?
5. What do you think is the role and purpose of affinity housing and cultural studies?
6. How would you define the challenges Dartmouth faces culturally and institutionally in terms of supporting first generation college students and students coming from families of a low socio-economic background? How would you work to lessen these issues on campus?
7. Many minority groups/organizations (COSO orgs, Greek orgs, OPAL orgs, etc.) feel under resourced/supported and limited due to small monetary budgets, thus preventing the number of community building events or programs they can put on. How would you ensure that there is money that can be accessed in which all students are able to use to pursue programming initiatives that they are passionate about?
8. Why vote for you?
