Mr. Kotaro Tamura earned his degrees from Waseda University (B.A.), Keio University
(M.B.A), Yale University (M.A.), and Duke Law School (LL.M.). He was a Liberal
Democratic Party member of the House of Councillors in the Diet of Japan (2002-10);
Chairman, Committee on Land and Transport, House of Councillors (2008-09); and
Parliamentary Secretary for Fiscal and Economic Policy and for Financial Affairs,
Cabinet Office, Government of Japan (2006-07). Before entering politics, he worked
at Yamaichi Securities and was Chief Editor of the Nihonkai Newspaper and CEO
and President of Osaka Daily News. He is the author of /Moshi Nihon ga hitotsu
no kaisha dattara/ [If Japan Was a Company] (Eveil, 2010) and has served as a
Lecturer at the Duke University School of Law and Keio University Graduate School
of Law. In the fall of 2010, he was a Senior Fellow at Yale University's MacMillan
Center for International Studies.
