Dear Undergraduate Students,
Last Friday the Student Presidential Committee on Sexual Assault (SPCSA) delivered
its recommendations for future initiatives to promote sexual assault prevention
and awareness to the offices of the President, Dean of the College, Dean of Student
Life, and Dean of the Faculty. These recommendations were compiled from discussion
and presentation notes from the 2012 Winter Symposium, which took place on January
28, 2012.
This daylong Symposium sponsored by the President's Office was attended by over
120 student leaders, administrators, faculty, and staff. During this time, attendees
discussed current initiatives in place and presented possible futures ones.
Attached you will find the SPCSA's recommendations for each of the following constituencies:
administrators, faculty and staff, and students.
We hope to receive your feedback at a Town Hall meeting that will be held later
this May. Please stay tuned for more information on that event.
For further information on current initiatives addressing sexual violence at Dartmouth,
we suggest reviewing a summary document compiled by the Sexual Assault Awareness
Program (SAAP) Coordinators at http://www.dartmouth.edu/sexualabuse/sexual_violence_initiatives.pdf.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Hoffman (Chair) and Anneliese Sendax (Vice Chair)
