Hey 16s,
Want to make an immediate impact in the local community while doing easy, meaningful service?
Dartmouth Feeding Neighbors is a nonprofit volunteer organization that fights hunger in the Upper Valley by the redistribution of food. We take perfectly good leftover food from '53 Commons and some local restaurants and deliver it to the Upper Valley Haven, which gives it to needy families in the community. During the spring, we donated over 2000 pounds of food in just 9 weeks!
Here's where you come in. Our deliveries occur on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday before 10 am, but we NEED volunteers to pick up the food from '53 commons and transport it to the Upper Valley Haven, which is less than 5 minutes away. It's an easy way to reduce hunger in the Upper Valley and give back to our community, while reducing waste here at Dartmouth. Sign up for one delivery or make it a weekly thing; we welcome any volunteers, though it helps a lot if you have access to a car! Plus, you get a sweet DFN t-shirt.
Feel free to sign up for any deliveries on the google doc here:
