Bulgarian Folk Music &  Dance Concert with Kabile!

Kabile is a Bulgarian wedding band that specializes in performing native music on traditional village instruments. This form of Bulgarian wedding music has attracted worldwide attention and scholarship for its incredible virtuosity and musicianship. The band consists of 5 Bulgarian professional musicians, specialists in their areas. After a big tour in the US in 2008, the band has been touring the country again this year and right at the end of their tour they will pay a special visit to Dartmouth College. Their performance will include a concert followed by a brief Q&A session during which the audience may ask the band questions related to Bulgarian folklore music and dance traditions. After that there will be a short dance workshop where participants will learn some easy line dances and become fully immersed in the culture and spirit of Bulgaria. Immediately following the workshop, the band will start playing in the middle of the hall and everyone will have the opportunity to have tons of fun at the dance party by practicing their new steps and dancing in lines around the musicians.
