The Dartmouth Global Leadership Program is a student-run program that sends Dartmouth
students on spring break projects to Vermont, Texas, and Honduras. DGLP projects
are different from the traditional alternative spring break trips because of a
focus on curriculum design during winter term. We select a group of students from
different academic backgrounds to work directly with our community partners--under
resourced high schools in low-income areas. Each group develops a consulting relationship
with the community, gaining an understanding of the community's needs, and then
responds to their needs by developing a plan of action.  This plan takes shape
in the form of a detailed curriculum to be implemented during the spring break
week.  Through DGLP, Dartmouth students are able to actively and strategically
use their skills and knowledge from different academic disciplines to benefit
under resourced communities.
