Hey Dartmouth,
Tri-annually WISE of the Upper Valley facilitates an amazingly involved, intense,
incredible 35 hours (in a variety of formats to meet your scheduling needs) or
training, which prepare community members to answer calls for WISE's 24-hour crisis
line. WISE provides services to those affected by domestic violence, sexual violence
and stalking in the Upper Valley.
It is entirely due to amazing and dedicated volunteer crisis advocates that WISE
is able to offer this core service to survivors every hour, every day.
In addition to the nuanced understanding of the cultural underpinnings and realities
of Domestic and Sexual Violence and Stalking; enhanced advocacy and listening
skills; and privileged communication with survivors while working on behalf of
WISE, you'll also be part of the coolest group of people in the world, all committed
(like you!) to ending violence.
So please, if you haven't already consider joining a training this coming
year (the first starts in October!) or forward this email to people you know to
be beautiful and empathic people who would make great advocates.
Attached you will find: a postcard with dates for the 3 training sessions this
year (October/November; March/April; May), Goals and Objectives for training;
Advocate Expectations; and an application which can be returned to Kate Rohdenburg
at: [log in to unmask] .
For any follow up questions please blitz the WISEatD account or email Kate at
WISE.
Sincerely,
WISEatD
