A member of the Academic Technology Services Team within the merged computing and library information Services Department, the Foreign Language Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and instruction to faculty and students in the foreign language departments. Responsibilities include advising language faculty on the selection and use of technical resources for language instruction. The Foreign Language Specialist will assist the faculty in applying academic technologies within the curriculum, such as using multimedia software in the classroom, developing Web pages for courses, and delivering digital resources through the campus network. The Foreign Language Specialist will provide instruction in multimedia technology and support for language facilities within the Information Services Department including the language lab, an electronic classroom, and a faculty resource center. Qualifications: The candidate must have experience with the teaching of foreign language and culture, superior leadership and communications skills, and the ability to work as a team player in a changing information technology environment. Proven interest and familiarity with current teaching methodologies and computer-based instructional technologies, in both Mac and PC environments, is essential. Experience in developing Web-based materials is desirable. Master's degree required, preferably in a foreign language or educational technology.
