The first thing I did after I brought my PowerBook G3 home was upgrade to 8.5.1. Do that first (MacOS 8.5.1 smooths out A LOT of quirks that seem to affect language kits), then do the CLK, then do the Multiple Language Kit updater from the MacOS CD (haven't got the disk in front of me, can't remember the exact name).
