Official Position Title: Audio/Video Coordinator What it is really: Lab Manager Starting: Sept 2 would be ideal but the wheels of Personnel move slowly. Rate of pay: approx $23K, union position, weekly pay, wage Hours: 35/wk, somewhat flexible hours Duties: Schedule, set up, and operate a/v/computer equipment for faculty and student users in the College of Arts and Sciences. Coordinate student staff of approx 13 (mostly work-study), including training and payroll duties. Provide user support across a range of basic services. Work in a congenial but very active lab with good staff support. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, service-oriented approach; someone able to delegate work; someone who is good at anticipating and heading off problems. Two years of college required, or equivalent. One year related experience, preferably with experience in a/v equipment operation, scheduling, record-keeping, staff supervision, video production or personal computer use. Foreign language experience is useful but not required. The job will be posted with the Boston Univ Office of Personnel, but not until 8/26 or so.
