A trip to the Woodstock sewage plant floodplain this morning with Kyle Jones, Sarah Carline, and Tii McLane produced a good assortment of birds, despite recent mowing of the large western field. Sparrow numbers were lower than a week ago, but sill impressive. Three N. Harriers and an E. Meadowlark were among these highlights from our combined list:

Eastern Meadowlark  1     Seen in flight; fairly large and chunky, distinctive stiff flight, white outer tail feathers visible
Common Yellowthroat  1
Palm Warbler (subspecies uncertain)   1
Palm Warbler (Yellow)  5
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Myrtle)  11
Indigo Bunting   1

We also managed a scoter trifecta, with 2 immature/female Surf and a male White-winged at Lake Pinneo, 6 male Blacks and a male White-winged at Kilowatt South.
