RAPPORT UPDATES
Revised Grants Product Go Live Date -
The implementation of the RAPPORT Grants Product has been rescheduled to go-live in February 2019 to accommodate the latest enhancements and updates from the vendor. The upgrade
is important to continue successful submission of system-to-system applications and it will provide users with many additional features. There will be department access and routing enhancements, a new budgeting module, and internal award communication and
budget editing available to both departments and OSP. Training for the new RAPPORT Grants Product will begin in December and continue in January and February to prepare users for the upcoming changes.
RAPPORT Grants Proposal Survey -
Please find below a link to a very short survey designed to inform our office about how users experience Proposal development in RAPPORT. In particular, we are interested in feedback
about key usability areas as well as document uploading. We plan to use the feedback from this survey to enhance the RAPPORT Grants Product to improve the user interface. Responses are anonymous and will only be used as part of our current RAPPORT development
improvement process. OSP very much wants feedback from both Faculty and Staff.

POLICY AND SPONSOR UPDATES
Absence of named senior key personnel - Recent
announcements from sponsors have highlighted the need for transparency around a change in a principal investigator's or other named senior key personnel's status in relation to his or her role on a sponsored award, where that change will impact his/her ability
to carry out the approved research at the location of, and on behalf of, the recipient institution. Make sure to review the new OSP guidance on the internal process for reviewing
leaves and making determinations around sponsor prior approval.

Important changes include:
eRA Enhancements:
No Zero for Person Months — A zero can no longer
be entered for person months as level of effort in Section D.1 -Participants of the Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR). The zero reflected a time when only whole numbers were allowed, and users were asked to enter a zero if a person month effort for
a participant was 0.4 or less. Since decimals are now allowed, the zero is no longer needed.
eRA Enhancement: PI or PI Delegate Can View No Cost Extension
—
A principal investigator (PI) or another Commons user to whom a PI has delegated the privilege (PI Delegate) will now be able to view the pdf of the No Cost Extension request submitted to the granting agency. The document will be available on the
Status Information screen in eRA Commons under the Other Relevant Documents
section. Prior to this release, only the signing official (SO) could view the submitted request in the system.
