HEY HEY HEY WELCOME TO THE FIRST ~WEEKLY UPDATE~ OF THE TERM

 

Fourteen of our amazing triathletes travelled to Buzzard’s Bay, MA this weekend for our first triathlon of the year!

Some highlights:

• A ~salty~ 500ish meter ocean swim, a gorgeous 12 mile bike and a 5K to top it all off!
• Celebrity appearances by some of our lovely ‘18s
• Some body surfing in the waves to cool down

How’d we do? Pretty frickin great

• Our fearless leader Sonia Rowley ’19 WON the ENTIRE women’s division
• Evan Wetzel ’19 placed THIRD in the men’s division
• Washed-up alum (jk) Erin Connolly ’18 placed 3^rd in the women's 20-24 age group
• We WON the WOMEN’S collegiate division (we beat Coast Guard!!!)
• And we placed a cool 3^rd OVERALL (men and women) in the collegiate division 

Overall, not a bad weekend for Dartmouth Triathlon :) Special shoutout to captains Sonia, Tucker, and Carly for tirelessly planning this race for us!

PRACTICE SCHEDULE:

Monday*:

• 3:30-4:30 PM: Spin/Outdoor Ride
• 3:30 PM Run
  

Tuesday:

• 6:30-8 pm Swim

Wednesday:

• 3:30-4:30 PM Spin/Outdoor Ride

Thursday:

• 8:30 AM Strength (Manley 87)
• 5 PM run
• 6 PM ~team dinner~

Friday: 

• 3:30-4:30 PM Spin/Outdoor Ride

Saturday:

• 12-1:45 PM Swim

Tomorrow (Monday) we have both outdoor ride and spin practices. If you aren’t comfortable on an outdoor ride just yet, (we totally don’t expect you to be!) there will be a spin practice led by Sonia in the gym! 

*We aren’t sure how many people will be at practice tomorrow because we have so many new members (YAY), so there is no guarantee that everyone will get a bike in the spin room. However, we will be leading a run practice at 3:30 PM, so everyone has a chance to practice with us!

ALSO, you must fill out your org sync waiver to be able to practice! Sign in at www.orgsync.com, search Triathlon Club, and fill out the 2018-19 waiver. All new and returning members must do this.
