Irving Institute: Energy 101 Series: Big Picture Overview, Tuesdays Fall Term

Energy shapes our lives much more than most of us realize. The Dartmouth Energy Collaborative and Dartmouth’s Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society is offering a free 8-week series on Energy Systems and their influence on our lives. Biometrics Under Attack, Friday September 21, 3:30-4:30

Thayer School of Engineering presents the Charles C. Jones Seminar. Dr. Arun Ross, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Michigan State University will speak on Biometrics Under Attack. The talk will cover both technological and ethical issues related to biometrics. The talk will take place on Friday September 21, 3:30-4:30 in Spanos Auditorium, Cummings Hall. Upcoming WISP Information Sessions

What's WISP? information session: Calling all ’22 women interested in science, engineering, technology, and math (STEM) disciplines and ’21 women interested in chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, and math. Come to the What’s WISP? information session on Friday, September 21 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Carson Hall L02. This information session will provide an overview of the WISP peer mentor program, the STEM internship program, and plans for STEM-related programs. The WISP advisor, the WISP Peer Mentor Coordinators, and a panel of WISP women will be on hand to answer your questions.

WISP Internship information session: On Friday, September 28 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. WISP will hold an information session going over all the details of looking for an applying for a WISP internship. WISP internships provide paid, hands-on science experience working under the mentorship of a Dartmouth faculty. Likely location is Dartmouth Hall 2015.


WISP Peer Mentor Program (PMP)

WISP Peer Mentor Program is looking for both Mentors and Mentees. An overarching goal of WISP involves building a community of women interested in STEM disciplines. To this end, the WISP peer mentor program matches first-year women with sophomore, junior, and senior women for informal mentoring. For more information about the WISP PMP, come to the What’s WISP information session on Friday, September 21 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Carson Hall L02. For specific questions e-mail the Peer Mentor Coordinators, Nicole Knape ’19 and Jill Nehrbas ’20 through [log in to unmask].
