Over the past several weeks, two hens and their combined broods—formerly numbering fifteen; now down to ten—have been visiting my front yard in Thetford Center. Last week, I found them eating low-hanging raspberries (in direct competition with my son and me). Early this morning, they were working unmowed sections of the yard likely for grasshoppers and crickets, both weighed down by dew.
