Book talk on “The Simple Beauty of the Unexpected”, July 18

Professor Marcelo Gleiser (Physics and Astronomy) will talk about his book "The Simple Beauty of the Unexpected." The book is a scientist’s tribute to nature and humanity’s deep connection with and debt to Earth. The event takes place on Wednesday, July 18, from 4:30-7:00 in the Baker-Berry Library East Reading Room. Discussion of racism in medicine, July 19

Osher@Dartmouth hosts Dr. Damon Tweedy, Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University for a discussion of his book Black Man in a White Coat. The book addresses racism in medicine for both doctors and patients. Dartmouth affiliates must present their Dartmouth ID for free admission. Astronomical Observing

Weather permitting, you can go see the moon, planets and stars through Shattuck Observatory’s telescopes. Open Fridays this summer from 9:00-11:00 p.m. Call 603-646-9100 to check availability if weather looks iffy.

Research Funding Deadline: UGAR Research Grant Application Deadline, July 18

The application deadline for both Leave Term and Senior Honors Thesis grants is Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Late applications are not accepted. If you have any questions, please contact Jeanne Briand in UGAR.


Dartmouth Partners in Community Service, Internship Funding Deadline, July 18

Dartmouth Partners in Community Service (DPCS) provides up to $5000 for community service internships with non-profit agencies within the U.S. Their deadline for application for 18F internships is July 18. See the Internships page on the Center for Social Impact's website for more information.


Finding Internships in Health Care Information Session, Thursday, July 19

The Center for Professional Development (CPD) is hosting an information session on finding health care internships. The information session will take place on Thursday, July 19 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. in CPD, 63 South Main Street, 2nd Floor. If interested, please RSVP through DartBoard.
