Wow!  The colors in the turkey are amazing!  Great photo.  Thanks for sharing these.

Last few days have been quite different. Things are picking up. Here are some pictures of the birds named in the subject line. All but the turkey were here in the Upper Valley…

1) Male grouse decided to claim possession of State Route 132 in Thetford this a.m. A northbound pickup finally called his bluff, and he took off across this white sedan, which had stopped.
2) This turkey (on seacoast) was completely unfazed by my presence on Wednesday. Mating season does that, it seems. Dawn had just broken, so the colors blew up on the iridescent feathers.
3) These two red shouldered hawks have been hanging around for the past week. This picture was from yesterday. My wife saw one again today, but it was being chased off by 7 crows.
4) I saw two great blues in the past few days: one flying over the 89/91 interchange, and one hunting a small pond this morning off Route 5 in Norwich (pictured here).
5) On Campbell flats, two pairs of black ducks were settling down in the flooded crops late this morning….

We also saw some brown creepers and white breasted nuthatches pass through a couple days ago all in one rush.
