For the last two weeks, I have been driving on E.Thetford Road, watching the adjacent, parallel power lines, in hopes of seeing an American kestrel. There is a pair that annually nests in a nearby barn. The sighting of a kestrel at this locale is a sure harbinger of spring.

Today, I was pleased to see an American Kestrel on the utility wire traditional perch. Hope springs eternal!
