Workshop: Strategies for your STEM thesis, Wednesday April 4, 6:00 – 8:00PM

Are you writing an honors thesis in health science, science, or engineering, or thinking about writing one in the future? Join Karen Afre (Academic Skills Center), Nick Van Kley (RWIT), and Katie Harding (Kresge Library) as we discuss strategies and tools for writing your thesis. We’ll talk about creating a realistic timeline for your project using your time effectively writing in a scientific discipline outlining and drafting your thesis finding important sources for your literature review working with a citation manager Pizza and drinks will be provided.

Dartmouth Science News: Nicotine Vaping Likely Leads to More, not Fewer Smokers

Work by Dartmouth researchers from the Norris Cotton Cancer Center was recently featured in various news outlets. The research suggests that vaping actually increases the number of smokers rather than allowing smokers to quit. Dartmouth Science News: Perceptions of Anxiety and Women in STEM

Professor Mary Flanagan along with Dartmouth post-doctoral scholar Gili Freedman and other colleagues used narratives to explore women’s experiences in STEM. They specifically focused on differences in how women and men attribute anxiety in a STEM class.
