Hi Mike,

Pretty much every 360 video or image that you find on youtube or facebook can be used as content and played on the Rift or the Vive. That content can be used as cultural material to be presented at any level, in any language class. It's more challenging to come across applications that are specific or that can be repurposed for language or content classes. These are some I've found:

Coco VR : When you get to the Art Gallery, they have a really good collection of La Catrina art, starting with Posada's work.
Dreams of Dali : A surrealist experience inside of Dali's art.
War and Cartridges: An art exhibit in French by Tunisian artists Wadi Mhiri and Houda Ghorbel
Travel VR : We're using this app to present cultural content in Spanish classes -although it can be done with any language. Students select one Spanish speaking country and then select a video. They have to report to the class what they learned about the country.

Hope this helps.

Sure, do an advanced search in Steam, you can limit to VR and language.  Also look at JauntVR.   https://www.jauntvr.com/lobby/ryot

FYI, Chernobyl has become buggy for us and we can’t run it.  It was one of the early ones, I don’t think it’s updated.

Subject: VR content for Language Learning

Hi folks,

Just purchased an Oculus Rift for the Language Center to support some content a Russian Professor wanted to use related to Chernobyl (https://www.oculus.com/experiences/rift/1028758880514808/).  In doing a search I see a lot of other content available   Does anyone have experience with Apps they’ve found useful for Language Learning, or Language Classes?

Thanks,

- mike
