Jim, thank you so very much for these beautiful photos! Really awesome to view. Especially since our feeder population has been dismal this winter.  So many species have not shown up here in Cavendish. We basically have had 3 chickadees, couple of woodpeckers, and dozens of juncos! I’ve been calling them “junkies” as they make a terrible mess. Missing are titmice, nuthatches, goldfinch, purple finch, cardinals, blue jays.  We’re fortunate to have a bald eagle that cruises low over the Black River almost daily, and the first pair of red breasted mergansers floating on the Black.

Thanks again.

For those who do not subscribe to NHBirds and/or VTBirds listserves, here are two links to recent photos that you might enjoy viewing.  Both blogs are from very nice birding spots, each about two hours’ drive from the Upper Valley. In particular, Ipswich River would be a great place to take kids or grandkids since they will be able to have wild birds eat out of hand their hands.
