Same here (Norwich).  We haven't seen anywhere near the usual amount of the past.

On the other hand the goldfinch population seems to be mushrooming and are cleaning out the thistle on a daily basis.  They're consuming the contents of the 18" tube feeder daily.  In the past it took 4-5 days to do that.

Wish I could help. I can only add my scant numbers here-1 or 2. Very unusual and disturbing.

I am very concerned about the chickadee population decrease an was wondering if anyone else has noticed. I have lived here for over 40 yrs in this house an have feed the birds constantly all that time. One bird I could ALWAYS count on having was the loveable chickadee an I had many many of them all those years an all year long. Late fall this year I noticed not only the decline but the total absence of these sweet birds. I now see maybe one if I'm lucky, also 2 friends of mine, one in Springfield, one in Claremont,an myself in Grantham, all in NH.have also noticed this,an was wondering if anyone else has also. Thank You for any help in this. A bird lover,Liz Menard
