Weird - I'm  finding the same thing - today 2 jays, mostly at the bird bath and a few sparrows at the feeder.  Yesterday one hairy  and chipmunk on the suet and that was it. Hopefully a little more activitytomorrow. Way too quiet.  here in south Strafford.

Ditto here on Old Lyme Road in Hanover.  Suspect it may have something to do with the crazy heat this week?

Agreed.  Birds have been few and far between this past week.
Occasional blue jay, chickadee, white breasted nuthatch, but not much else.

Same here on New Boston Road in Thetford, though I did hear a WhBreasted Nuthatch and a chickadee this morning in the cooler temps.

I live up here on Hurricane Hill and for 27 years I have always had a huge population of birds who frequent my feeders...many varieties.  There was a noticeable decrease

after Irene but I still had  healthy numbers.  But over the past 2 weeks I have had virtually NO birds....a few woodpeckers are visiting the suet, but not much more.  I used to have 20+ mourning doves and even they are gone.  I have had sharp-shinned hawks

around, but they have always been prevalent.  Anyone else experiencing this?...any ideas as to why this may have occurred?
