Yes heard the thrush for the first time last evening. Also have heard b-t green. For every year in memory a Chestnut–sided pair has nested adjacent to our garden and Yellow-throats by our pond. No sign of ‘em … also have had Mournings most recent years. No sign. As for passers thru— Nashvilles, Canadians, Magnolias, Blackpolls, etc.— nary a peep. It’s a strange feeling this season up here in the woods…we take down our feeders when the bears and raccoons become too much to cope with. In addition to Ovenbirds, Yellow-rumpeds and Black-and-whites, I have seen a couple of Black-throated Blues and Nashvilles, heard a couple of Black-throated Greens. But no Chestnut-sideds or Yellowthroats, usually pretty abundant by now. Two singing Wood Thrushes this morning for the first time this season. The Yellow-rumped warblers also maybe 2 weeks, several, as is usual. And just this week, Ovenbirds galore. Highlight thus far is a solitary Lincoln¹s sparrow. But overall it¹s very quiet for early-to-mid-May. Very, especially with regard to the warblers by now usually I¹ve seen several species. But except for the two above and an occasionally audible Black & White, nada, niente, nothing. A bit weird.
