The Mascoma Chapter of NH Audubon is pleased to announce that it again will be hosting its popular "Warbler Wednesdays" and "Feathered Fridays" birding events throughout the month of May. All of the outings are free and open to the public.
The "Warbler Wednesdays" begin on May 3rd. All of the outings will take place at Lebanon's Boston Lot Lake on NH Rt. 10 opposite the Wilder Dam. Meet in the more northerly of the two parking lots at 7:00 a.m. Walking conditions include a fairly steep, uphill climb and surfaces that are unpaved and uneven. The walk will be led by Mascoma Chapter Steering Committee Chair Blake Allison.
The first "Feathered Fridays" walk will take place beginning at 7:00 a.m. on May 5th at Union Village Dam Park in Thetford Center. To reach our starting point, take VT Rt. 113 to Thetford Center and turn onto Buzzell Bridge Rd. opposite E.C. Brown's Nursery. Follow the dirt road about 1/3 mile to the parking area on the left just before a metal gate. Walking conditions include a dirt road and grassy/brushy fields with uneven surfaces. The fields will be damp if rainfall has occurred recently. To be led by members of the Mascoma Chapter's Steering Committee.
Bring binoculars and/or a spotting scope as you prefer. Footwear appropriate to likely ground conditions also is highly recommended.
