The topic got me looking over my Feeder Watch data since moving to Plainfield four years ago. I did not see much change in feeder activity this year. My average species during counts, except for the first year (13) has been either 16 or 17. The average number of individuals over each "count season" has varied from 83 (first year) to 98 (this year). Non-scientifically I feel the big jump this year is the large number of Red-winged Blackbirds I have had. Red-wings have been here 16 of 20 count session with the highest number 87 one day! Goldfinch average was lower than last year, but jumps around year to year. The only species showing a decline every year was Blue Jay.
