Summary of Duties and Responsibilities |
The Department of World Languages and Cultures (WLC) in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Program Coordinator II – Language Studies Resource Center (LSRC) Manager.
The manager of the LSRC will ensure the center’s alignment with department and university academic and resource goals; collaborate with faculty in the development of instructional technology components for classroom and blending learning initiatives; coordinate technology use with other departments and campus units; supervise center undergraduate staff; and manage the center’s daily operations.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to manage multiple priorities with many distractions or interruptions, approach responsibilities with a collaborate mindset, have the ability to work with a diverse group of people, and possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. In addition, the candidate will possess knowledge of education in languages and cultures, second-language acquisition, applied linguistics, or instructional design and be familiar with language-specific technology tools and course management systems such as Blackboard and Moodle. |

Required Education and Experience |
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 8 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position. |

Preferred Education and Experience |
Demonstrated proficiency with social media and website development; Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and administration on grants for operational budget or hardware and software purchases; Supervisory experience (hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff, undergraduate student workers and/or graduate students); Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and respond to requests in a timely manner; Experience creating online materials as a way to connect content-based instruction with student interest Experience with instructional design methods, computer-assisted language teaching, experiential learning, and online, hybrid, flipped, and/or blended course design and development |
