IALLT 2017 CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Moorhead, Minnesota
June 20-24, 2017

The International Association for Language Learning Technology (IALLT) is a professional organization devoted to the advancement of instructional technology for the teaching and learning of languages, literatures and cultures. The biennial IALLT conference attracts participants from around the world and offers an international perspective on the future of technology in language learning. This conference will be of particular interest to K-12 and post-secondary language instructors, to staff affiliated with media centers and language resource centers, and to developers of hardware and software applicable to language learning.

In today’s world of mobile devices and nearly ubiquitous wireless access, students do not have far to go to access a wealth of information about languages and cultures. From authentic user-generated content on social media sites to the latest commercial products for independent study to Open Educational Resources created by language professionals, the options for learning languages have never been greater. Accompanying this dizzying array of new web-based content are new platforms for online learning, telecollaboration and augmented reality that allow us to break down geographical distances between students, teachers and the cultures that they study. Informed use of technology provides an opportunity for students to engage meaningfully with distant cultures, inspiring a lifelong love for languages that goes far beyond the classroom.
