This is outside the avian realm, but may be of interest to Upper Valley
birders and naturalists:
----------------------------
Cougar, mountain lion, puma, panther, catamount. Call this mythic feline
predator what you will, but there is no longer a shred of doubt that wild
cougars have returned to the Northeast and are reclaiming their former
haunts.

On Friday, October 28 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Montshire Museum, learn
about this fascinating recolonization from the region's foremost expert,
acclaimed naturalist and author Susan Morse. Sue will present a
magnificently illustrated overview of cougar ecology and natural history,
and she will dispel any doubts about this legendary mammal's return to
eastern North America.

This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Children
are welcome. For more details, see http://goo.gl/T0eshu. Don't miss it!

Sponsored by the Vermont Center for Ecostudies, the Norwich Conservation
Commission, Norwich Trackers, and the Montshire Museum of Science.

We hope to see many of you there.
