In the past I've encounter sapsuckers drumming on various metal objects: a stop sign,a guardrail, a barn roof, and my old analog TV antenna. This spring a YbSs discovered my big old fashioned 5' wide satellite disc, conveniently located above our bedroom window. The dish is covered with holes, so he would hand on the back and use it as a megaphone, often before our alarm would go off. Today it waited until 7:30, and for the first time had a nearby rival using a tree. It was like an acoustic guitarist trying to be heard over Jimi Hendrix.

Also in the yard, we've had at least one male Cardinal, and one singing Titmouse. Both birds only have one previous yard record, at least ten years ago.
