Please join the Mascoma Chapter of NH Audubon as it hosts a birding outing at the historic Bedell Covered Bridge site in Haverhill, NH. The Bedell Covered Bridge was lost in a September 1979 hurricane. Today, only its granite abutments remain.
The surrounding grounds host a diverse variety of birds due to the park’s interesting combination of riparian, mixed woodlands and agricultural land habitats. Last year's addition of new paths into the wetlands area have greatly enhanced the possibility to get close views of birds therein.
The park entrance is located on NH Rt.10 just north of the Haverhill Green. If you would like to carpool, meet at 6:30 a.m.in the parking lot at the Norwich end of the Ledyard Bridge.
The walk is free and open to the public. Bring binoculars and/or a spotting scope as you prefer. All skill levels welcome. Walking conditions are level traveling over mostly paved surfaces. If there has been recent rain, some of the grass-covered paths may be damp.
To be led by Mascoma Chapter Steering Committee Chair Blake Allison.
