Come hear the Upper Valley's own Spencer and Doug Hardy, who just returned from >2 adventurous weeks in the Peruvian Andes, where they were joined by a BBC film crew to video-document the only bird species on earth known to nest on glacial ice: the White-winged Diuca-Finch. The Hardys made ornithological history several years ago with Spencer's discovery of the first nest, during the course of Doug's ongoing research on Andean glaciers. The BBC caught wind of their remarkable find and arranged the recent expedition to film this phenomenon.
