Was killing time while my son had basketball practice at the Lyme School this evening, and walked down to the Big Rock Conservation Area. Bloodroot was blooming in profusion. At the lovely bench which overlooks the Grant Brook, I sat for a bit. Just downstream of the bench, was a Louisiana waterthrush singing and feeding. Tail bobbing all the while. There is often a Louisiana Waterthrush further downstream, at the Grant Brook snowmobile bridge. I wondered if it might be the same bird, or a different bird. This watershed is a great place to bird, and much of it is conserved by Upper Valley Land Trust, so hopefully, it will provide excellent habitat for a long time to come! -- Jason Berard Stewardship Director Upper Valley Land Trust 603-643-6626 To post messages, send e-mail to: [log in to unmask] Set your e-mail application to PLAIN TEXT ONLY to post messages.
