The 5th Annual Dartmouth Digital Arts eXhibition (DAX) will take place Wednesday, May 18th from 7-10 PM in the Hood Museum of Art. You may know that the Hood is closed for renovations. We've been given the run of the building to host the show. It should be grand. Save the date!

Please encourage your students to submit work. We've had a demo area in the past and might do it again. Attached is the poster. Deadline for submitting work is April 29th.<http://www.dax.cs.dartmouth.edu/#landing> Click the link or go to dax.cs.dartmouth.edu<http://dax.cs.dartmouth.edu/> to apply.

DAX features work from across campus that combines art and technology. This is a juried event, judged on quality and innovation, and the incorporation of visual and sonic exploration using digital tools. Proposals should include a submission form available at here as well as a link to any videos, drawings or photographs clearly illustrating the size, materials and installation requirements of your work.

The event begins with an animation, film and digital musics presentation at the Old Loew Theater at 7 PM. Interactive Installations 7-10 PM. At 9 PM, The Neukom Institute is sponsoring a live presentation, dance party and voting opportunity for their Turing Test of Creative Arts. Can you tell a real DJ from an algorithmic one? A real journalism piece from one created by a computer? A poem by a poet as opposed to one done digitally?

DAX is sponsored by the Computer Science Department, The Neukom Institute, Digital Musics, and the Provost's Office.
