Under clear skies and cool temperatures, about two dozen participants enjoyed this morning’s birding along the Connecticut River from Wilson’s Landing in Hanover northward to Grant Brook in Lyme. At least 40 bird species were found and included, in part, 6 species of ducks, a Pied-billed Grebe, 13 Turkey Vultures in a flock, sapsuckers, flicker, phoebes, Tree Swallows, a singing Ruby-crowned Kinglet, 2 Hermit Thrushes, 3 singing Pine Warblers, and 2 Fox Sparrows.

Cosponsors of this event were Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon, the Hanover Conservancy, and the Upper Valley Land Trust. Dartmouth Printing Company generously provided parking spaces. Special thanks go to coleaders Blake Allison, Doug Brown, Jeff MacQueen, and Gail McPeek. And additional special thanks go to Jeff MacQueen who has provided eBird summaries at
