A walk along Mink Brook beginning at 9:30 turned up an osprey sitting in a tree about 50 yards upstream from the wastewater treatment plant. No less noteworthy was the ubiquity of ruby-crowned kinglets, at least a dozen, seen and heard at various points along the trail from the Connecticut River to the entrance for the Mink Brook Nature Preserve almost a mile inland. Blake Allison
