​Decades ago when we lived in Miami, Florida, it was about this time of year that Cedar Waxwings appeared high in the live oak trees and Robins came through en masse turning over every leaf and bit of mulch as well as devouring berries of "Florida holly" (the noxious Brazilian pepper - counterpart to our own invasive honeysuckle).  When we arrived home from work, we could tell the robins had been through because the whole yard was stirred up as though someone had come through with an eggbeater.

These robins and waxwings many are reporting here have got to be extra tough.
