At 7 PM on December 16, 2015, Ian Clark will show his spectacular photographs of puffins in the Mayer Room of the Howe Library in Hanover, NH. His program on “Puffin Stuff” is free, open to the public, and is the first in a series of winter season programs arranged by the Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon.

His program provides a photographic travelogue of his recent trip to northeastern Maine and Machias Seal Island to view Atlantic Puffins. Machias Seal Island is home to large colonies of puffins, razorbills and smaller populations of common murres, common and Arctic Terns. Tours of the island allow visitors to get within arm’s length of many of the birds, providing great photo opportunities. Ian is an editorial and technical photographer from Newbury, VT, and has turned his lens to wildlife photography. He had a long career in photo labs, including a stint managing NASA’s Photo Section at the Langley Research Center, back in the days when that meant dark rooms and wet hands. He’s well known for his images of railroads, particularly steam locomotives. He’s online at www.IanClark.com.
