So I have had on my bird list for 25+ years, that would be my “official” paper, fridge list, a particular bird.

I have thought of deleting it, cuz I haven’t seen it all these years.  Until this am.

I have been birding the Campbell Flats loop….culvert, along river, along river side of corn, and back down the road to the culvert.

Super bird loop.   Terrific mix of habitats.   I do “pish” a bunch in the fall.  mostly Song sparrows and Co. Yellowthroats respond.

But ya never know.

Fairly quiet (7:15-8:30).  Am. Kestrel (M), EaPhoebe, Gray Catbirds, Indigo Buntings, Song Sps, 2 White-throats,3 Flickers, 1 Lincoln’s, 3 Swamp Sp’s.

Lots of Co. Yellowthroats.

Then I end up along the culvert stream, again.  I pished….and this yellow-ish Vireo popped out. Fairly close and low. Across the culvert stream.

Good look…..quite yellow flanks, nice dark eye stripe. A Vireo.  Not a Red-eye. Not Yellow-thr. Vireo.  Ooooh.

This was my first (ever) Philadelphia Vireo.

Then I birded the small field south of the culvert…..pished a bit more and turned up another, lighter PhVi. Along with a Red-eyed Vi. And several Rose-br. Grosbeaks.

Hopefully they will stick around.
