Also note the following information I received from NCI related to this FOA:

 

After the planned next (single) Application Due Date for a reissued NCI Omnibus R21 FOA and its expiration, the NCI will not have a single FOA that accepts R21 applications for all topics in cancer research.

 

At any given time, the NCI is participating on numerous NIH funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) that use the R21 grant mechanism.

 

Applicants who want to write and submit R21 applications should use the Advanced Search feature of the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts (http://grants.nih.gov/searchGuide/search_guide.cfm) to determine if any one of those FOAs might be appropriate for support of the research project that they wish to use as the basis for an R21 application.
