Hello everyone!

A while back  we had a meeting to discuss the direction we want our club to take. We elected to change some leader requirements, to buy a size large bike, and to maintain the club’s focus on riding (as opposed to social things).

Here are the newest changes:
1. Glasses will be required. We will provide safety glasses or trippies can bring their own sunglasses.
2. Road etiquette will be explained during the safety talk.

Old change finally coming into effect:
We as a club have different levels of riders, and it is important that we cater to all of them. In order to better accommodate advanced/expert riders, we will put SPD (clipless) pedals on 2 of the 11 bikes we have so that riders can learn to use clips. While pedals can be moved from bike to bike easily, we ask that the new large bike (which we haven’t purchased yet) remain clipless unless it is absolutely necessary.  We cannot provide shoes for everyone at this time, but they are fairly inexpensive, so we are asking riders to buy their own. They cost about $30 new. In addition, we are considering making this bike a leader-only bike, to incentivize leadership roles within the club.

If you have any comments or concerns about this, please blitz me

LEADERS:
In order to make sure everyone is up to date on new safety protocol, we will be changing the locker code on Wednesday evening. The new code will be given to leaders who blitz me the following information:

-what to do when a trippee has post-crash shock
-one reason all trippies should wear glasses while riding
-whether or not you have ever changed a flat tire

Thanks!!!
