I saw that bird while driving this afternoon. It had a distinct golden tinge to the head and the white band on the tail. Did a double take while driving! Don't think juvenile Bald's are supposed to have a white band, but I'm open to any thoughts. Seems like a juvenile Golden to me, I would have turned around, but I was on the highway so I ebirded it in case it was still in the area. I would bet on a young and darkly colored bald eagle, there are some relatively nearby along the CT River. -Charlie ****************************************************************To post messages, send e-mail to: [log in to unmask] your e-mail application to PLAIN TEXT ONLY to post messages. To contact the list owner: [log in to unmask] based archives and subscription management are available at:http://listserv.dartmouth.edu/Archives/uv-birders.html**************************************************************** **************************************************************** To post messages, send e-mail to: [log in to unmask] Set your e-mail application to PLAIN TEXT ONLY to post messages.
